1/28/21 NBA DRAFTKINGS NOTES
Blazers Vs Rockets
This game has the highest total on the slate and should be a very good one for DFS as well. Both teams play at a high pace and are not good defensively. I really do not have interest in Houston, unless we get word John Wall is not limited or that his limit will be increased to the 30-35 minute range. Wood is back so I have no interest in Boogie. Boogie has played very well in the absence of Wood so it should be intriguing to see if Wood loses run or we see more of both together on the floor today. Portland still has no CJ, Nurk, and Covington. I love Dame, Melo, and Kanter tonight in cash and gpp. Simmons and Giles are fine to take shots at for gpp as well especially large field tournaments.
Lakers Vs Pistons
The Lakers are going to be without AD, which means Markieff should draw the start. Both Keiff and Kuzma make for good cash and gpp plays. LeBron has been playing out of his mind in competitive games, but even without AD I don’t think he is a must have. The Lakers are on a back to back and they are playing the Pistons, even without AD I really do not think they are going to have to push Lebrons minutes tonight. If you are fading LeBron I really like playing Schroder and/or Trezz in gpps.
Clippers Vs Heat.
The Clippers will be without Beverly, Kawhi, and PG again tonight. Mann, Kennard, and Jackson should start again tonight. Last time vs the Hawks we saw Reggie Jackson play 39 minutes, hard to say if we see the same amount of minutes again, but regardless I like him for both formats today. Mann at 5.4k is fine for both formats as well. As for the rest of the Clippers with guys like Morris, Williams, and Kennard it’s the same thing I like these guys for gpp, but more for large field tournaments. Miami has Dragic, Herro, Butler, Robinson, and Struss as questionable. Now if everyone plays I will have no interest in Miami. People like Herro and Butler will probably have a minutes limit and everyone else will be priced as if Butler and Herro are out. If Butler, Herro, and Dragic sit again I will have a lot of interest in Nunn and Bam for cash and gpp. Don’t mind taking a shot at Bradley as well if Miami is short handed. ( As I finished writing this, Butler and Dragic have been ruled, Strus and Duncan are available, and Avery Bradley is now questionable.
Warriors Vs Suns.
This is the last game on the slate and we are getting a lot of ownership projected on the Phoenix side. Booker is out again and I think people like CP3, Ayton, and Cameron Johnson are fine for cash and gpp. Crowder and Bridges are more secondary options. Normally whenever CP3 on a back to back I would think his minutes would be limited a little, but the Suns have been playing him heavy minutes. He just came off of playing 2 overtime games in a row vs Denver and played 35 minutes last night. Ayton was a huge disappointment in a smash spot last night, but you can’t let recency bias dictat your plays. On the Warriors side not much interest besides Curry in gpp. He has a really low floor, but at the same time a really high ceiling.
