12/28/19 NBA DFS NOTES
Guards
We should have tons of guard value tomorrow. Trae Young left tonight’s game early today (which screwed us over), Fox is listed out (another guy who left early and cost me yesterday), and Bradley Beal did not practice on Friday so I doubt he plays. First person I like is Spencer Dinwiddie. Dinwiddie is only priced at 8k going up against Houston one of the fastest paced teams in the league. A key thing to note is that Dinwiddie has scored 24 plus real points in 8 straight games. I expect him to keep up this play tomorrow and go for around 5x, although it will be hard to get to him with all the value on this slate. Next person I want to talk about is James Harden. Harden is only priced at 11.2k which is way too cheap for his production. I hope him taking under 20 shots the last 2 games take people off of him. Harden is going to go back to his eventual self where he shoots 25 plus shots. The key thing in both of those games Harden either hit value or went over. I also do not mind Westbrook, now like I said I think Harden starts to take his normal 25 plus amount of shots, but that still does not make westbrook a bad play. I do not expect Westbrook to shoot over 30 times like he did vs Golden State but somewhere in the 18 plus range and I am completely fine with that because of his triple double upside. If Beal plays and is not restricted than he is a fine play tomorrow, however I think he sits. One key thing to note is that this game starts at 8 eastern, but I am fine with getting news for this game post lock because the 7pm games do not interest me as much tomorrow. Now if Beal does sit Troy Brown Jr, Ish Smith, Isaiah Thomas (who is rejoining the team after suspension), and Jordan Mcrae benefit. Trae young should sit tomorrow and if he does Cam Reddish should be starting. When Reddish starts he truly does have a 30-40 fantasy point ceiling so I would not be shocked to see him reach that tomorrow if Trae Young is out. Fox has already been ruled out, which means Cory Joseph should start. Joseph is a fine play, but he isn’t the best fantasy producer and we should have better value than him tomorrow, so I probably won’t get to him as much. Bogdan Bogdanovic is fine for gpp and cash.
Forward
This guy is more of a gpp play than cash, but Jaylen Brown has been phenomenal for the Celtics recently. He has scored over 25 points in 4 of his last 5 outings. He gets a tough matchup against Toronto, which is why I call him more of a tournament play. Jimmy Butler is only priced at 7.9k in what should be a competitive matchup vs the 76ers. I think Butler is a fine play the 76ers are a good defensive team, but are also one of the higher paced teams in the league. Clint Capela is listed as doubtful, which means we should see a lot of PJ tucker at center, I like Tucker a lot as a cheap value play tomorrow. Julius Randle absolutely killed the the Wizards a couple of days ago, in fact in his last 2 games Randle has gotten 47.5 and 50.8 ( against Wizards) draftkings points. Now Randle price has risen to 7.2k, but I still think he’s a fine play. Do I expect 45 plus fantasy points again no. Randle has shot over 8 threes in his last 2 games and connected on over 50 percent of them. That for sure is not going to continue. I can see him going for 5x, but wouldn’t be shocked if he goes for more because the ceiling is their. John Collins is actually priced up all the way to 8.4k thank god. I won’t get to him in cash more than likely even with Trae out, however he’s a fine play for tournaments. Collins does have that 20 20 potential especially vs the Bulls with no Trae. As I am writing this exact spot Trae Young is unlikely to play. Lauri Markkanen is questionable and did not practice today due to an illness. Normally when people don’t practice they tend to sit out the next day, but Lauri didn’t practice because he was sick, so I don’t expect to get news on him playing or not until after lock. If he sits Thad Young vs Atlanta is an amazing play. Especially with Chandler Hutchinson listed as doubtful. Anothy Davis is one of my favorite plays for tomorrow as of now, he gets a pace up spot vs Portland a weaker defensive team in the league as well. Last time Against Portland AD went for 62.8 fantasy points. I still believe that he can go for something like that again. I won’t get to him in cash, but Joe Ingles has been red hot recently. In his last 2 games he has attempted 10 and 12 three pointers. He has a tough matchup vs the Clippers, but if he is attempting over 10 plus threes again, especially with the 3 pointer bonus on Dk he can kill his tag. (nothing to do with Ingles but Trae is now officially ruled out, which means fire up the point Reddish)
Center
Probably the weakest position on the slate tomorrow. I will more than likely either Randle or AD at center tomorrow.
*Not doing the player pool tonight, since I talked about all the plays I really like tomorrow in the article. I will have one for subs tomorrow on the sub page. If you ever have any questions sub or not you can dm me I am glad to help.
